Context

Cover three phases: discover, evaluate, plan a trip.

The flow follows the natural decision logic of travelling. Browse for visual inspiration, Evaluate for the trust decision via reviews and stats, Plan for handing the route to the car. One purpose per screen reduces cognitive load and makes the function usable inside an automotive context.

/

My Role

Design lead under creative direction.

Owned user flows, wireframes, design iterations and final UI based on corporate templates. Guided a junior designer through the project: structured tasks, gave feedback, owned conceptual quality. The creative director set the strategic frame and challenged decisions at key moments.

/

Approach

Structured benchmarking and feature mapping before any UI decision.

Benchmarking of numerous routing and community platforms, as an excerpt: Komoot, AllTrails, Strava, Airbnb. Each covers a different aspect: POI logic, trust through reviews, community-driven topics, theme-led discovery. Then a feature matrix along the three trip phases, split into hygiene and delight features. This makes UI decisions defensible.

/

Outcome

Community feature live, route planning fully designed.

Six tile variants explored, selected by content density and hierarchy. Categories are colour-coded (nature green, lifestyle pink) so topics are recognised before reading. The live product is leaner than the concept, standard at this scale. Lesson: real content earlier would have shifted the hierarchy.
